A series of 12 tales, three sets of four.
Soldiers
The first set of four tales are through the eyes of soldiers, a glimpse of a darker story underneath them all. The reader will discover themes of identity, loss, transformation, and the difference between truth and awareness. These stories set the stage for what is coming. There is no escape or atonement, only a covenant.
Resistance
The covenant stands but a few sense a false note in the story of life, death...and after. They refuse to go as lambs to the slaughter. How does a pawn rebel in a game played by gods? Any way it can.
Awakening
The conclusion of the Chronicles. Events are accelerating to an end. Hunger, light, love, which is the key? All...or none? Which end do we find? Ours, gods, or something else?
A word from the author
The one thing no one ever tells you when you begin to try and write on your own, is just how much of it remains a team-sport. I wrote tens of thousands of words professionally, always as the member of a team. The idea of leaning on others for writing is not a new concept for me. However, when embarking on a solo career in fiction, I had images of the lone writer hammering away on a typewriter in deep solitude. A sort of modern-day mad scientist working in an underground laboratory, creating monsters from my monsters.
How quickly I came to learn that writing a story is a very social exercise—which, when you think about it, makes perfect sense. The Broken Chronicles series is the debut effort by this fellowship.
